【摘要】:Thisstandarddefinesamethodofpenetranttestingusedtodetectdiscontinuities,e.g.cracks,laps,folds,porosityandlackoffusion,whichareopentothesurfaceofthematerialtobetested.Itismainlyappliedtometallicmaterials,butcanalsobeperformedonothermaterials,providedthattheyareinerttothetestmediaandtheyarenotexcessivelyporous,examplesofwhicharecastings,forgings,welds,ceramics,etc.Thisstandardisnotintendedtobeusedforacceptancecriteriaandgivesnoinformationrelatingtothesuitabilityofindividualtestsystemsforspecificapplicationsnorrequirementsfortestequipment.Theterm'discontinuity'isusedhereinthesensethatnoevaluationconcerningacceptabilityornon-acceptabilityisincluded.MethodsfordeterminingandmonitoringtheessentialpropertiesofpenetranttestingproductstobeusedarespecifiedinEN571-2andEN571-3.
