【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforuseasacontrolandacceptancetestfordirect-voltageapplications.Itmaybeusedalsointhepartialevaluationofmaterialforspecificendusesandasameansfordetectingchangesinmaterialduetospecificdeterioratingcauses.Experienceindicatesthatthebreakdownvalueobtainedwithdirectvoltageusuallywillbeapproximately2to4timesthermsvalueofthe60-Hzalternating-voltagebreakdown.Foranonhomogeneoustestspecimen,thedistributionofvoltagestresswithinthespecimenisdeterminedbyimpedance(largelycapacitive)withalternatingvoltage.Withanincreasingdirectvoltage,thevoltagedistributionmaybestilllargelycapacitive,butdependspartlyontherateofvoltageincrease.Aftersteadyapplicationofdirectvoltagethevoltagedivisionacrossthetestspecimenisdeterminedbyresistance.Thechoiceofdirectoralternatingvoltagedependsuponthepurposeforwhichthebreakdowntestistobeused,andtosomeextent,ontheintendedapplicationofthematerial.AmorecompletediscussionofthesignificanceofdielectricbreakdowntestsisgiveninAppendixX1ofthismethodandofTestMethodD149.ThoseappendixsectionsofTestMethodD149thatrefertoalternatingvoltagearenotapplicabletothedirect-voltagemethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofdielectricbreakdownvoltageanddielectricstrengthofsolidelectricalinsulatingmaterialsunderdirect-voltagestress.1.2Sincesomematerialsrequirespecialtreatment,referenceshouldalsobemadetoASTMspecificationsortothetestmethoddirectlyapplicabletothematerialtobetested.SeeTestMethodD149forthedeterminationofdielectricstrengthofelectricalinsulatingmaterialsatcommercialpowerfrequencies.1.3ThistestmethodissimilartoIECPublication243-2.AllproceduresinthistestmethodareincludedinIEC243-2.DifferencesbetweenthistestmethodandIEC243-2arelargelyeditorial.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionstatementsaregiveninSection7.
