【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoverstheproceduretodeterminethemassofdepositformedonaspeciallyconstructedtestrodexposedtorepetitivepassageof8.5gofengineoilovertherodinathinfilmunderoxidativeandcatalyticconditionsat285C.TherangeofapplicabilityoftheModeratelyHighTemperatureThermo-OxidationEngineTest(TEOSTMHT)testmethodasderivedfromaninterlaboratorystudyisapproximately10to100mg.However,experienceindicatesthatdepositvaluesfrom1to150mgorgreatermaybeobtained.Thistestmethodusesapatentedinstrument,methodandpatented,numbered,andregistereddepositorrodstraceabletothemanufacturerandmadespecificallyforthepracticeandprecisionofthetestmethod.Note1ASTMInternationaltakesnopositionrespectingthevalidityofanypatentrightsassertedinconnectionwithanyitemmentionedinthisstandard.Usersofthisstandardareexpresslyadvisedthatdeterminationofthevalidityofanysuchpatentrights,andtheriskofinfringementofsuchrights,areentirelytheirownresponsibility.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.AlthoughnotanSIunit,thespecialname,litre(L)isallowedbySIforthecubicdecimetre(dm)andthemillilitre(mL)fortheSIcubiccentimetre(cm).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
